Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler is an NBA player that plays shooting guard or small forward for the Chicago Bulls. He was born on September 14,1989 in Houston, Texas. He went to Marquette University and got drafted in the 1 round 30th pick by the Bulls in the 2011 NBA draft.  Jimmy played solid basketball from 2011 to the beginning of the 2015 year. At the start of last season he became unstoppable by averaging 22.4 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assist per game. That season he also won NBA Most Improved Player Award and went to his first all star game. This season he has scored 1074 points, 411 steals, 139 blocks, 721 assists, and 1342 rebounds. He also made his second straight all star game this year. Jimmy and his team should make it to the playoffs this season and hopefully win a championship. Jimmy Butler is an amazing basketball player and has a bright future ahead.

NBA All-Star Weekend

This past weekend was the NBA All-Star Weekend in Toronto, Canada. There are three nights of basketball events Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday night was the celebrity game and the two teams were Canada and USA and the second event was the rising stars game between the USA and the World. Canada beat the US 74-64 in the Celebrity game  and the US beat the World 157-154 in the Rising Stars Game. Saturday night was the skills challenge that was won by Karl-Anthony Towns, the three point contest that Klay Thompson, and the dunk contest the was won by Zack LaVine. Finally, Sunday night was the All- Star game played by the West and the East. The West beat the East 196-173 in the high scoring game. Russell Westbrook won MVP of the All-Star by scoring 31 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.  The 2016 all-star weekend was amazing and I can't wait till next year's.

Kawhi Lenard

Kawhi Lenard is and NBA player for the San Antonio Spurs. He was born on June 29, 1991 in Los Angeles, California. Kawhi was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the first round, pick 15 in the 2011 draft and was traded to the Spurs after his first season. Kawhi has won many awards during his NBA career such as the NBA Finals MVP trophy, Defensive Player of the year award, NBA All- Defensive Team, NBA All- Rookie Team, and Best Championship Performance ESPY Award. This season he has 1,031 points, 91 steals, 46 blocks, 126 assists, and 341 rebounds. Kawhi helps the spurs a lot by giving assists, getting rebounds, making many shots to help them win games. His teammates Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Danny Green, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Manu Ginobili all effect how Kawhi and the Spurs play. Kawhi Lenard is a great NBA player and has a bright future ahead.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are an NFL team in the NFC West that had a 7-9 record this past year. The Rams justed moved to Los Angeles from St. Luis and will play at the Coliseum this season until there new stadium, Inglewood Stadium is built for the next season. The Rams came in third place in their division this past season infront of the 49ers and behind the Seahawks and Cardinals. This season the Rams had 1956 rushing yards, 2805 passing yards, 41 sacks, and 4761 total offensive yards. The Rams offense was led by running back Todd Gurley and wide recievers Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, and Kenny Britt. The defense was led by Chris Long, Robert Quinn, Aaron Donald, and James Laurinaitis. Last years the Rams were a decent team, but this year they have a high draft pick so they can get good receivers, running backs, defensive tackles, and defensive ends. I can't wait to go watch football games and finally have an NFL team in Los Angeles.

Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are an NBA team that play in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center. The Bulls are in the Eastern Conference, Central Division with the Pacers, Bucks, Pistons, and the Cavaliers. They have won 6 championships in  Chicago with superstar players and coaches like Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson, and Scottie Pippen. This season the bulls have a 25-19 and are in third place in the Eastern Conference. They have great players such as Jimmy Butler, Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol, and Joakim Noah. This season their team averages 101.3 points per game, 48.9 rebounds per game, 6.14 blocks per game, 21.6 assists per game, and 6.07 steals per game. The bulls have a great team this season will definitely make the playoffs with their superstar players. I can't wait to see how far the bulls go this season and hopefully win another championship.

Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is the championship game for NFL teams. The 50th Super Bowl is being played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California played by the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. The last time the Broncos went to the Super Bowl was Super Bowl 48 in 2014 and the last time the Panthers went was Super Bowl 39 in 2004.The Carolina Panthers have amazing players like Cam Newton, Luke Keuchly, Ted Ginn, Greg Olsen, Josh Norman, and Jonathon Stewart. The Broncos also have amazing players such as Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, C.J. Anderson, Emmanuel Sanders, Von Miller, and Demarcus Ware. Both teams have a great shot at winning. They both have a great pass and rush defense, and a great offense, but in my opinion the Panthers will win. The Panthers most importantly have their quarterback, Cam Newton, who is outstanding in clutch situations or big games. He has 3,837 passing yards, 35 touchdowns, 296 completions, and 636 rushing yards this season. I can't wait to see who wins Super Bowl 50.

Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook Jr. is an NBA player who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was born on November 12, 1988 in Long Beach, California. Russell was drafted in the first round as the number 4 pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle Supersonics. At the beginning of that season, the Supersonics moved to Oklahoma City to become the Oklahoma City Thunder.  During his rookie season,  Russell got selected to the NBA all-rookie team with Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo, Brook Lopez, and Michael Beasley. From the 2010 season to the end of the 2013-2014 season, Russell was an average player for the Thunder. In the 2014-2015 season, he became unstoppable! Russell was awarded the "Best Comeback Athlete" ESPY award, was voted into the 2015 All-Star game, and won the All-Star game MVP award. He also had 1,886 points, 140 steals, 488 rebounds, and 574 assists that season. Russell Westbrook is an amazing NBA player and has a bright future in front of him.
